This past spring, students from Emerson worked with our Urban Ed and Outreach team to make a video about their work. You can watch the video below, no special software needed!

I am the project manager at Groundwork Lawrence a
non-profit organization whose mission is to create a sustainable and healthy community through joint environmental action.
The City of Lawrence is a densly populated urban area where food security is an issue. I currently manage two community gardens and the farmers market and hope to replicate some of the amazing things the food project has done to bring fresh, local produce to the urban setting and to engage residents in farming.

Hello,
I am a science teacher in the Cambridge Public Schools, but I have some background conducting research in phytoremediation of lead-contaminated soils. I have been looking for a way to utilize my interest in this area in both working with youth and within the context of the Boston/Cambridge community, my own community. I would like to know more about this, and am wondering if there is the potential for bringing study like this into local schools?

I learned about The Food Project from volunteering as a volunteer for Community Servings in Roxbury.
This is an awesome program and the students of Emerson have done an excellent job in putting this video together. The sound quality was far superior to that of the first video. (I did use the same computer so it may be the video itself.) The first video was informative, but I would have like to “see” more video footage of the farm in Lincoln to coincide with the narrative from the youths.
